*Short and fun post today! Gives me more time to work on a post for next week that I'm especially excited about :)*
It's summertime y'all. Spotify summer playlists galore. Listen to my personal faves below.
Big Love – Louis the Child ft. EARTHGANG
Just please. Listen to this song and I swear you will be dancing through ALL OF IT. Louis the Child routinely brings in the freshest talent for their tracks. They might've outdid themselves with the addition of EARTHGANG. This is officially my summer anthem cause ain't nobody got time for bad vibes.
Dark Days – Local Natives ft. Sylvan Esso (Foals Remix)
Do yourself a favor and listen to this FOALS REMIX of the song. You better make sure its the remix, cause I've heard the regular version and it was just not it. The regular version is slower and sounds pretty depressing, like you're trapped in a Bon Iver music video. The remix retains some of that sad girl vibe but Foals injects a much needed summery beat.
Home Again – Michael Kiwanuka
The day I discovered Michael Kiwanuka was a happy day. His music is like soul, rock, and blues all rolled into one. Can it get any better? This song is slower paced and more soulful compared to some of his others. Imagine taking a walk through a field of beautiful flowers, thinking about nostalgic moments in your life, and then spreading a blanket out in the grass, taking in the beautiful sunset. That's kind of what this song sounds like to me.
Honey in the Summer – PUBLIC
When a song contains the word "summer" in the title, I get mixed feelings. Most times, I get the impression that it'll sound too Kids Bop-py and excessive. But this song by PUBLIC has actually kind of grown on me. I'll bop my head to it and pretend I can reach the high notes just like them. So yeah... Nikki certified!
